Built for This Street
Household Staff, Fine Linens, and Couture — One Pickup
Selby Lane households run on a staffed rhythm. Alex's matches it: a quiet gate handoff, hotel-crisp sheets, and garments finished to the standard the maker intended.
Your Staff Runs the Account
Housekeepers, estate managers, and executive assistants schedule pickups, share gate codes, and leave garment notes. You do not need to be home. We keep one discreet thread with whoever manages the house.
Sheets, Bedding & Guest Rooms
Frette, Sferra, Matouk, Pratesi, and Yves Delorme sheet sets, duvet covers, shams, and coverlets ride with the wardrobe. Guest rooms turn over the same way the family rooms do — pressed, hotel-crisp, on the next service day.
High-End Garments, Hand-Finished
Bespoke suiting, cashmere, evening wear, and travel pieces for Sand Hill and the city. Every item is inspected by hand. The cleaning method is chosen for that garment — not assigned by category.
For Household Staff
A Quiet Handoff Your Team Can Run
Most Selby Lane accounts are managed by the house, not the principal. That is the service we built.
Estate managers, housekeepers, and PAs
Once the account is open, your staff owns the rhythm. They text a pickup, leave the bag at the gate or the service entrance, and we coordinate access in advance — a gate code, a scheduled window, or a handoff with the person on duty. The principal never has to wait at the door.
One account, many notes
Starch level, hangers or folded, which guest-room linens turn this week, which jacket is rush for a Thursday board meeting — tell us once. We save it. Recurring Monday / Wednesday / Friday pickups remove the weekly coordination. If the household has a second property in Woodside, Hillsborough, or the city, the same account covers it.
Discretion is the default
Alex's Valet Drivers are used to gated Atherton addresses. We do not need the principal on site. We communicate with the person you name, and we return pieces individually wrapped and ready to hang or to make the beds.
Sheets & Bedding
Luxury Bed Linen Care for Atherton Houses
Estate sheet rotations are too fine — and too frequent — for a plant cleaner. They belong on the same valet as the wardrobe.
The houses we already care for
Alex's Team cleans Frette, Sferra, Matouk, Pratesi, Yves Delorme, Kearsley, Anichini, and Scandia Home. Sheet sets, duvet covers, shams, coverlets, mattress covers, and the decorative pieces that sit on an Atherton bed. See bed linen cleaning and comforter and bedspread cleaning.
Guest rooms and seasonal change-outs
Selby Lane houses often turn several rooms at once — family beds on a weekly cycle, guest rooms before a weekend, summer-to-winter weight. One pickup takes the rotation. Pieces come back pressed and hotel-crisp, ready for the housekeeper to remake the rooms. Table linen for entertaining rides on the same visit.
Why this cannot go to a volume plant
High thread-count cotton and linen are damaged by the wrong temperature, the wrong detergent, and hard pressing. That damage looks like “the sheets wore out.” They did not. They were cleaned incorrectly. We match the process to the fiber so a Frette set still looks like Frette after years of weekly service.
High-End Garments
Couture and Executive Wardrobes on Selby Lane
The clothes that leave this street for Sand Hill, the city, and black-tie — finished the way the maker built them.
Suits, shirts, and the week’s rotation
Bespoke and made-to-measure suiting from Brioni, Kiton, Isaia, Zegna, and Tom Ford. Dress shirts from Charvet and Luigi Borrelli, pressed with the collar and cuff the wearer expects. Soft-lapel finishing — no shine, no hard crease. See luxury dry cleaning and shirt laundry.
Cashmere, knitwear, and evening wear
Loro Piana and Brunello Cucinelli cashmere is hand-blocked, never compressed. Gowns and evening pieces are inspected for beading, structure, and lining before any solvent touches them. Suede, leather, and travel outerwear are on the same account.
The inspection is the difference
Every piece is examined on receipt. Construction, fiber, existing wear, stains that need pre-treatment — noted before cleaning, not after. If something is at risk, we tell the household before we proceed. That is the standard Atherton wardrobes require, and it is the standard Alex's has kept since 1984.

Common Questions
Selby Lane, Atherton — Frequently Asked Questions
Do you pick up on Selby Lane in Atherton?
Yes. Selby Lane — including West Atherton and the Redwood Oaks edge of the corridor — is on Alex's regular Peninsula route, along with Walsh Road, Elena Avenue, Stockbridge Avenue, Watkins Avenue, Fair Oaks Lane, and Atherton Avenue. Pickup is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5:00–11:00 AM. Call 415-338-9318 or sign up.
Do you serve West Atherton and Redwood Oaks?
Yes. West Atherton and Redwood Oaks sit on the same Peninsula valet as Selby Lane. We collect from gated drives and staffed houses in both, on the Monday / Wednesday / Friday route, and return linens and garments on the next service day.
Can our housekeeper or estate manager handle pickups without us home?
Yes — that is how most Selby Lane households work with us. Your staff schedules the pickup, shares gate access, and meets the valet or leaves the bag at the door. We keep one discreet contact with whoever manages the house. You do not need to be present.
Do you clean luxury sheets and bedding — Frette, Sferra, Matouk?
Yes. Fine bed linen is a core part of the Atherton route. We collect sheet sets, duvet covers, shams, coverlets, and guest-room rotations with the wardrobe, and return them pressed and hotel-crisp. Thread count is damaged by the wrong process, not by use.
What high-end garments do you take from Selby Lane homes?
The full investment wardrobe: bespoke suits, cashmere, evening wear, dress shirts, suede and leather, and travel pieces. Every item is hand-inspected. The method is chosen for that garment. Same standard as our San Francisco households.
What is the schedule and minimum for Selby Lane?
Peninsula routes run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5:00–11:00 AM. Monday returns Wednesday, Wednesday returns Friday, Friday returns Monday. Same-day is available for a fee. $75 minimum; pickup and delivery included.
Is there a dry cleaner on Selby Lane, or do we drive somewhere?
There is no need to drive. Alex's is a door-to-door valet. Our atelier is in San Rafael; walk-ins are welcome there during business hours, but Selby Lane clients never have to make that trip. We collect at the house and return to the house.
